Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior medical office experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong knowledge of EMR, computer programs, and typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical/procedural scheduling and booking for assigned physician(s).
• Coordinate patient preparation for surgical or other procedures including pre- and post-op appointments.
• Confirm that all pre-op requirements are met and transmitted to the surgery facility in a timely manner.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for procedures.
• Coordinate ordering of implants and other surgical supplies as indicated.
• Manage physician office schedules, meetings, and interviews.
• Receive and distribute physician mail and follow up as directed.
• Maintain booking and scheduling records per protocol.
• Liaise with outside vendors to ensure contract compliance and support levels.
• Provide initial and ongoing training of surgical booking to staff as needed.
• Adhere to compliance policies including regulatory, financial, and OSHA requirements.
