Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse to join Med-Surg GI Stepdown on 10E as a full-time night shift. You will provide safe, competent care to a designated patient group, applying nursing theory and evidence-based practice.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and perform charge nurse duties as needed. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and ongoing quality improvement within Mount Sinai.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited program with licensure in NY.
• Active BCLS; NRP, ACLS and PALS certifications as listed.
• Clinical competence across the nursing process and patient care.
• Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care using the nursing process and evidence-based standards.
• Assesses patient needs, applies critical thinking, and plans care.
• Collaborates with the care team to implement and evaluate the plan.
• Educates patients and families about plan of care and transitions.
• Performs charge nurse duties and coordinates resources as needed.
• Documents accurately to support quality and regulatory requirements.
• Contributes to safety, quality improvement, and patient outcomes.

Education

BSN or ADN nursing degree

RN license in New York State

Basic Life Support (BCLS)

NRP (Labor & Delivery, NICU)

ACLS (ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs...)

PALS (ED; PACU; IR; Peds ICU)
