Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York, NY is seeking a Clinical Nurse who provides safe, competent care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their families.

The role requires a BSN (ADN acceptable if matriculated in a BSN program), an active New York State RN license and BLS; NRP/ACLS/PALS preferred. This is a full-time day shift in the GP 10 East Gi-CC unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; ADN acceptable if matriculated in BSN program.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care by applying the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Assess and evaluate patient care needs using critical thinking in care management.
• Integrate assessment and intervention skills in nursing care delivery.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team in developing and evaluating the care plan.
• Prioritize patient care activities including teaching, rounding, and post-hospital planning.
• Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care and health promotion.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
• Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing delivery model.
• Model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care in engagement activities.
• Initiate service recovery when patients or families have concerns.
