Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Stepdown unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. The Clinical Nurse provides safe, evidence-based care to a designated group of patients and families, following the nursing process and Mount Sinai's Relationship Centered Care model.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, prioritizing patient care, educating patients and families, and facilitating discharge planning and transitions

Qualifications

• RN must be licensed as a registered nurse in New York State
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred or ADN with BSN progression
• Cardiac experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care using the nursing process and professional practice model.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement and evaluate the plan of care.
• Educates patients and families about plan of care, transition, health promotion and disease prevention.
• Performs charge nurse duties and coordinates supplies, staffing and inventory as needed.
• Documents thoroughly in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Supports patient throughput and high-quality, safe patient care within the unit.
