Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care and education in the outpatient GI Endoscopy setting. Qualifications

• One year of RN experience required.
• Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program (ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accreditation preferred).
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) must be valid for 90 days post start date; ACLS certification or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends and on-call.
• Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and education in outpatient GI Endoscopy.
• Cross-cover as patient needs dictate.
• Take focused history and assess patients prior to endoscopy; educate on procedures and review medical history and allergies.
• Monitor patients post-anesthesia and ensure discharge criteria are met; collaborate with MD and care team to provide optimal care.
• Interpret ECG rhythms and maintain clinical competencies; new graduates may participate in Nurse Residency program.
