Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. Saturday and Sunday coverage is required, and candidates must hold a state license and be able to work independently.

The RT will perform assessments, initiate therapies, document patient care, operate and maintain equipment, and participate in IDT meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed.
• Must hold RRT or CRT license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Deliver in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Track, audit and manage caseload.
• Perform related duties as required.
