Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The role focuses on geriatric patient care, independent assessment and treatment, and bedside therapies in a long-term care setting.

Candidates must have COARC-accredited education and state licensure (RRT or CRT) with BLS certification; prior tracheotomy experience is preferred. Weekend Saturday-Sunday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of the facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
