Job summary

Aperion Care is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to support nursing and medical staff in resident care. The role includes medication administration, vital signs, and assisting with daily treatments in a long-term care setting.

The QMA will document medications, monitor for side effects, and provide compassionate, professional care. CNA responsibilities may be performed when not administering medications, under supervision.

Qualifications

• QMA Certificate in good standing with the Department of Health.
• Current CNA Certificate is required.
• Long-term care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record residents' vital signs and weight as directed.
• Administer and document medications per physician orders (oral, topical, etc.).
• Maintain compliance with policies, HIPAA, and safety plans; respond to emergencies.
• Perform treatments not requiring a licensed nurse and follow procedures.
• Observe and report medication effects and adverse events.
• Take vital signs prior to certain medication administration.
• Provide direct resident care and function as a CNA when not administering meds.
• Develop and maintain courteous relationships with residents, visitors, and staff.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
