Job summary

Park Nursing Home is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Registered Dietitian (RD) to oversee nutritional services and ensure residents receive appropriate, high-quality nutritional care.

In this role, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, monitor dietary plans, and ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations while supporting survey readiness.

Qualifications

• Active RD credential required.
• Experience in long-term care or healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of specialized diets and geriatric nutrition.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with nursing, dietary, and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ nutritional needs and develop individualized care plans
• Oversee therapeutic diets and ensure compliance with physician orders
• Monitor residents’ nutritional status and adjust plans as needed
• Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings
• Ensure CMS/state regulations and dietary standards compliance
• Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff as needed
• Review menus for nutritional adequacy and regulatory compliance
• Support survey readiness related to dietary and nutrition services

Park Nursing Home, a 196-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located just steps from the beach in Rockaway Park, Queens, is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team. A fixture of the Rockaway community for decades, Park Nursing Home offers a warm, close-knit environment where staff and residents know each other by name.

The Registered Dietitian (RD) position is central to resident wellness — the Registered Dietitian (RD) oversees nutritional care across our long-term care and short-term rehabilitation populations. No prior nursing home experience is required — dietitians from any setting are encouraged to apply for the Registered Dietitian (RD) role.

Registered Dietitian (RD) Duties
