Job summary

ArchWell Health seeks a Medical Assistant to join our team at our Phoenix area centers. The MA supports PCPs, greets and rooms members, and assists in assessing health conditions.

The role includes routine diagnostic testing during appointments and coverage outside of primary center as needed. Responsibilities include taking vitals, patient interviews, and medical history, managing calls and messages, performing basic first aid, and maintaining compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare vocational training.
• A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• 6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• EClinical Works or similar EMR experience.
• Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings.
• Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointment, reporting changes to PCP or specialists as needed.
• Process patient phone messages, return calls, route to team members, and relay information to physicians.
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills under supervision.
• Ensure OSHA safety standards and accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
• Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients and follow up via weekly calls.
