UAB Medicine, located in Alabama, is seeking an RN for a demanding Hospitalist/ACE unit. The role focuses on utilizing the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and support patients and families. Applicants must hold an RN license in Alabama, be BLS certified, and may need ACLS/PALS depending on the unit.

The unit emphasizes coordinating care with physicians, psychologists, and other professionals to ensure high-quality outcomes in a community-hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.

Responsabilités

• Utilize the nursing process to care and counsel individuals in health promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness.
• Identify patient needs using the AACN Synergy Model.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care for the patient, family and community.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, their family and all members of the health care team and with licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, and/or dentist.
