Job summary

UAB Medicine's Acute Care for Elders Unit (ACE) at UAB Hospital-Highlands is seeking registered nurses to deliver compassionate geriatric care across multiple shifts. The ACE unit focuses on holistic, high-quality care for post-surgical, geriatric, and transfer patients.

You will apply the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team. A accredited nursing program graduate who is licensed or eligible to practice as an RN in Alabama is

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS certification is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on the unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals in health promotion and illness prevention.
• Delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care with the health care team.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrist and dentist as needed.
