Job summary

Life Care Centers of America in New Bedford, MA is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and directing patient activities.

This role focuses on recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social programs, ensuring each patient’s needs are met in compliance with Life Care standards.

High school diploma and prior geriatrics experience are preferred; valid driver’s license and ability to work weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with geriatric populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs.
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
