Job summary

Life Care Centers of America seeks an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities by planning, organizing, and directing quality activities for patients. The role focuses on recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs in line with Life Care standards.

Qualifying: high school diploma or equivalent; geriatrics experience preferred; valid driver’s license; strong teamwork and communication; strict adherence to policies, confidentiality, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education)
• Chart patient progress and behavior
• Escort patients to activities
• Make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in evacuation of patients
• Maintain dependable attendance
• Demonstrate good judgment and reasoning
• Communicate and function on an interdisciplinary team
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Follow Life Care policies including confidentiality and code of conduct
