Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning, organizing, and directing engaging activities for patients. The role ensures recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met in compliance with laws and Life Care standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in current State with satisfactory driving record per Life Care standards.
• Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, education).
• Describe and chart patient progress and behavior.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Visit patients in their rooms to engage those uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in evacuation of patients.
• Communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team.
