Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities in planning and directing quality activities for patients. The role focuses on recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs, ensuring compliance with laws and Life Care standards.

The position runs full-time with alternate weekends and an afternoon shift (1pm–8:30pm). The role requires a high school diploma, preferred geriatrics experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.
• Demonstrates independent decision-making when required.
• Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities.
• Ability to implement and interpret department programs, goals, policies and procedures.
• Maintains patient rights, safety and sanitation.
• Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Follows Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes required training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating quality activity programs.
• Chart patient progress and behavior descriptively.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Make regular in-room visits to patients unable to participate.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in patient evacuation when needed.
• Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
• Work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
