Houston Engineering, Inc. seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead our geotechnical practice, overseeing subsurface investigations, designs, and QA/QC.

Balance technical leadership with business development and staff mentoring across a range of foundations, slopes, and structures. The role requires PE licensure, 10+ years of geotechnical leadership, and strong communication skills to interface with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering.
• PE license required; SE/GE license preferred depending on state.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience with project or team management.
• Ability to lead teams to meet business objectives with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Experience with geotechnical investigations, design, reporting, and QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical scopes, budgets, and schedules for diverse projects.
• Provide senior review of reports and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes.
• Lead proposals, interface with clients, and grow the regional geotechnical practice.
• Recruit, train, and mentor staff; foster cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Direct field exploration programs, drilling operations, and soils testing.
