Houston Engineering is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Manager to develop and direct our geotechnical practice, overseeing subsurface investigations, designs, and QA/QC. The role blends technical oversight with business development and mentorship of staff.

You will manage budgets and schedules while contributing to a range of projects in foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and water resources as they relate to roads, bridges, and municipal infrastructure.

Qualifikationen

• PE license is required; SE or GE license is highly preferred depending on state.
• 10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience including project or team management.
• Experience leading a geotechnical practice and managing budgets and schedules.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for complex reports.

Aufgaben

• Oversee geotechnical scopes, budgets, and schedules across water resources, transportation, and municipal projects.
• Provide senior review of technical documents; ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Lead proposal efforts, interface with clients, and grow regional geotechnical practice.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop staff; foster collaboration across civil, structural, and environmental teams.
• Direct field exploration programs, drilling operations, and soils laboratory testing.
