Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Geotechnical Field Engineer for the Cardinal Project in New Albany, OH. The role involves supervising field construction activities, reviewing drawings, coordinating with the Construction and Engineering teams, and ensuring QA/QC in geotechnical work.

The candidate will have an MS in Geotechnical Engineering (or BS with extensive field experience), PE preferred, and willingness to travel domestically and overseas.

Qualifications

• MS Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• BS Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university with 8+ years of relevant work experience; minimum 2 years field construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field work by subcontractors, coordinate with Bechtel Construction and Engineering groups, consult with geotechnical engineers, and track schedule and performance.
• Prepare geotechnical engineering documents (memos, reports, daily summaries) and present results to the project team.
• Communicate geotechnical issues to the project team and coordinate with outside geotechnical consultants and subcontractors.
