Job summary

Bechtel seeks a geotechnical engineer to conduct field investigations, develop specifications, and oversee both field and laboratory work. You will interpret regulations, prepare cost estimates, and contribute to new business efforts.

Your work ensures geotechnical aspects meet project requirements across large-scale infrastructure and energy projects. The role requires an MS in Geotechnical Engineering (or PhD) with several years of experience, PE registration being preferred, and strong

Qualifications

• Requires MS in Geotechnical Engineering or PhD with relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical design principles and codes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, selects and applies geotechnical design methods for subsurface investigations.
• Performs stability, bearing capacity, and slope analyses; coordinates with civil/structural design.
• Prepares geotechnical reports and presents findings to the project team.
• Oversees field and lab activities during construction, and monitors soil/rock conditions.
• Interfaces with external geotechnical consultants and clients as needed.
• Assists in cost estimation, proposals, and potential new business opportunities.
