Bechtel is hiring an Area Field Engineer for Site Development and Site Services in New Albany, OH. You will lead field engineering, manage indirects, and ensure safe, compliant earthworks and temporary works execution aligned with project schedules and specifications.

The role requires a civil/geotechnical engineering background with extensive experience in heavy civil projects, strong leadership, and collaboration with ES&H, permitting, and field teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with 8–10 years of relevant work experience, or 12–14 years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in heavy civil, site development, earthworks and temporary works on large industrial projects.

Responsabilités

• Leads, directs, and develops field engineers; assigns work, sets priorities, and reviews performance.
• Directs field engineering for site earthworks, including grading, excavation, backfill, and haul road development.
• Directs geotechnical field engineering activities and coordination with testing agencies.
• Directs planning, design, and installation of temporary works (shoring, trench protection, crane pads).
• Coordinates site services and indirects (temporary facilities, power, water, lighting).
• Coordinates with engineers on constructability and RFIs; resolves field changes.
• Ensures compliance with environmental, stormwater, and permit requirements.
• Responsible for quantity take-off, cost, schedule forecasting; supports project controls.
• Coordinates with superintendents and subcontractors to plan sequences and handover graded areas.
