Job summary

Bechtel seeks an Area Field Engineer Site Development and Site Services for the New Albany project in Ohio. You will lead field engineering for site earthworks, temporary works, and site services, reporting to the Project Field Engineer.

You will mentor Indirects and Geotechnical Field Engineers to meet safety and quality standards. You will coordinate with engineers, subs, and authorities, ensure compliance with permits, environmental controls, and project schedules, and support handover of

Qualifications

• Required bachelor degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of relevant work experience; heavy civil/site development preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills; able to supervise field engineers.

Responsibilities

• Leads, directs, and develops field engineers; assigns work and reviews progress.
• Directs field engineering for site earthworks, including grading, excavation, backfill, and subgrade prep.
• Directs geotechnical field engineering activities and foundation verification.
• Directs planning and installation of temporary works (shoring, trench protection, crane pads).
• Directs field engineering for site services and indirects (temporary facilities, power, water, lighting).
• Coordinates with engineering for constructability and RFIs; resolves design clarifications.
