Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) seeks a Field Engineer to support engineers and technicians in the field. You will perform geotechnical field testing, conduct laboratory testing, and prepare field and lab reports to ensure data quality.

The role requires adaptability, collaboration, and a willingness to travel within the region. A civil or geological engineering background and experience with field data collection are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
• 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE) preferred.
• Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Field and Laboratory Work: conduct geotechnical field testing according to QA procedures.
• Performance of Work/Report Preparation: prepare reports of field and laboratory work and site visit reports.
• Communicate with clients to determine their project needs.
• Complete tasks in accordance with project quality requirements.
• Assist in maintaining and improving the materials testing laboratory in the local office.
• Assist with geotechnical engineering investigations including field drilling and laboratory testing and report preparation.
