Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Houston, TX. You will work with the Geotechnical Department to support design tasks, data collection, and analysis while gaining hands-on experience.

The internship emphasizes collaboration with senior engineers and exposure to field and office work. Applicants should be pursuing Civil or Geotechnical Engineering degrees, with ABET accreditation preferred, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
• Support lead engineers on project duties and reporting.
• Contribute to geotechnical design from concept through design completion.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and project updates.
• Collect and analyze project data and prepare summaries.
