Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Department Manager for Geotechnical Services in the Charlotte area. The role leads the geotechnical team, oversees project delivery, staff development, and client relations, with a focus on technical leadership and profitability.

The successful candidate will have a PE license, 8+ years in geotechnical engineering, and strong management and communication skills to guide multi-project initiatives and foster client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required with PE license.
• Master's degree in geotechnical field preferred.
• Typically 8+ years in geotechnical/geostructural engineering with project management responsibility.
• Experience with subsurface exploration, analysis, and design recommendations is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-relations skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead BLE's Geotechnical Services Department in Charlotte and oversee staff development.
• Manage project delivery, budgets, schedules, and client communication across projects.
• Provide QA/QC, technical reviews, and risk management for geotechnical work.
• Develop client relationships and support business development efforts.
• Plan and guide subsurface exploration programs and field personnel coordination.
