Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE) seeks a Department Manager for Geotechnical Services in the Charlotte area.

This senior leader will build and lead the department, drive technical excellence, staff development, project delivery, and client service while partnering with the Charlotte Branch Manager and business development to grow the practice. Minimum qualifications include a Civil Engineering degree and PE license, with 8+ years in geotechnical consulting and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; PE license required.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive geotechnical or geostructural engineering consulting experience, including project management.
• Demonstrated expertise in subsurface exploration, geotechnical analysis, design recommendations, and construction support.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, profitability, and contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical projects from scoping through subsurface exploration, analysis, reporting, and construction support.
• Lead staffing, recruitment, performance management, and professional development within the department.
• Manage department financial performance: budgets, forecasts, utilization, and backlog.
• Develop trusted client relationships and contribute to proposals and pursuits.
• Collaborate with Charlotte Branch Manager and leadership to grow BLE's Charlotte operations.
