Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. invites an experienced Department Manager to build and lead BLE’s Geotechnical Services Department in the Charlotte area.

You will oversee technical delivery, staff development, and client service while partnering with the Charlotte Branch Manager to grow BLE’s geotechnical practice. The role requires a PE license and 8+ years in geotechnical consulting, with strong leadership, budgeting, and business development capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's with geotechnical emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive geotechnical or geostructural consulting experience.
• Expertise in subsurface exploration, geotechnical analysis, design recommendations, construction support, and risk management.
• Existing relationships in Charlotte metro area are beneficial but not required.
• Participation in BLE's Senior Professional Program to qualify as final reviewer and manage technical risk.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, profitability, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational and technical leadership for the Geotechnical Services Department.
• Oversee staffing, budgets, forecasts, and revenue targets.
• Develop trusted client relationships and support growth strategies.
• Lead technical aspects of major pursuits, proposals, and project teams.
• Build a scalable, profitable geotechnical practice aligned with BLE’s objectives.
