Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) seeks a Department Manager to lead BLE’s Geotechnical Services in the Charlotte metropolitan area. This senior leadership role oversees technical delivery, staff development, project performance, and client service, partnering with the Charlotte Branch Manager to grow the practice.

The successful candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree with PE licensure, 8+ years in geotechnical consulting, and proven staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree with a geotechnical emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience with project leadership.
• Knowledge of geotechnical exploration, analysis, design recommendations, and construction support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical projects from scoping through exploration, analysis, reporting, and construction support.
• Lead staffing, budgets, forecasts, and project performance.
• Develop trusted client relationships and manage risk on complex projects.
• Partner with the Charlotte Branch Manager to grow BLE’s geotechnical practice.
