Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care - Georgetown is seeking a Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) to join a fast-paced ED team in Georgetown, KY.

The position offers 36-hour full-time shifts (7a–7p) and 24-hour part-time options across day and night blocks, with RN supervision and emphasis on patient care coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or completion of first year clinical nursing with validation.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• ED Tech works within the multidisciplinary team under RN supervision.
• Demonstrates strong communication and coordination of patient care and department flow.
• Maintains computer skills and uses hospital systems for assigned duties.
• Keeps work area organized to support efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, processes, transports and analyzes specimens per lab policies.
• Provides patient care with proficiency according to hospital procedures.

Shifts & Hours:

• First Shift - full time 36 hrs(7a-7p)
• Third Shift- full time 36 hrs (7p-7a)
• First Shift - part time 24hrs (7a-7p)
• Third Shift – part time 24hrs (7p-7a)

Description:

• The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
• Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.
