Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is seeking a Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) for full-time night shifts 11a-11p. You will work under the supervision of the ED Registered Nurse to support patient care and department flow.

Must have a Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification and BLS; data entry, lab or patient service experience are preferred. This role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or equivalent nursing coursework with clinical validation.
• BLS certification required; obtain within 30 days if not already certified.

Nursing Assistant

Description:

• The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
• Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.
