Baptist Health in Lexington, KY is hiring a part-time Nursing Assistant (Emergency Department Technician) for a mid shift from 11a to 11p. You will work within the ED team under the supervision of the RN, ensuring timely patient care and smooth department flow.

This role requires a high school diploma, Kentucky Nurse Aide certification or clinical equivalence, BLS certification (obtain within 30 days if needed), and may involve data entry and lab specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or completion of first year clinical nursing classes and validation of a clinical.
• BLS certification required; obtain within 30 days if not already certified.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and/or phlebotomy or point-of-care testing experience preferred.

Emergency Department I Lexington, KY

An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness.

• The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
• Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful comppletion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred .
• Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.
