Baptist Health Georgetown Emergency Department is seeking a Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) to support the ED team during mid shifts. The role involves assisting with patient care, specimen collection, and ensuring efficient department flow under RN supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma, Kentucky Nurse Aide certification (or equivalent clinical training), and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Description:

• The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
• Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
• Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• Previous laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience and /or phlebotomy, point of care testing experience preferred.
