Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Systems Director to lead Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering for NGA GEOINT support. Located 100% on-site in Springfield, VA, the role requires directing resources, staffing, and cross-team coordination to ensure mission success.

You will interface with NGA leadership, Aerospace teams, and the Intelligence Community, guiding technical studies and architecture development while maintaining security clearances and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or other relevant subjects.
• 12 years of progressively more responsible experience in engineering or other technical roles.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and lead multidisciplinary staff to meet customer needs.
• Demonstrated knowledge regarding NGA, NRO, their common interfaces and lines of demarcation.
• Familiarity with GEOINT architectures, satellite design, systems engineering, network architectures, and/or sensor integration technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor a high-performing technical staff.
• Liaison with senior customers, staff, and Aerospace management to identify and fulfill customer needs.
• Serve as the primary interface for the Aerospace NGP team with the customer and other Aerospace teams in the IC.
• Lead technical studies impacting future space and ground architectures.
• Collaborate with SMEs, government, and SETA across the GEOINT enterprise to close end-to-end missions.
• Maintain knowledge of current and future GEOINT acquisitions programs.
• Build and maintain relationships with IC and national security space organizations.
• Identify opportunities to inject Aerospace thought leadership and technology for customer needs.
• Oversee all efforts in your area of responsibility and manage ETG support per contract.
