Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Systems Director – Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering to lead a high-performing technical staff in Springfield, VA, onsite with NGA partners. The role requires in-depth GEOINT knowledge, extensive systems engineering and program management experience, and a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Occasional travel and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or other relevant subjects.
• 12 years of progressively more responsible experience in engineering or other technical roles.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and lead multidisciplinary staff to meet customer needs.
• Familiarity with NGA, NRO, their common interfaces and lines of demarcation.
• Knowledge of GEOINT architectures, satellite design, systems engineering, network architectures, and/or sensor integration technologies.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced customer environment with uncertainty.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and planning abilities.
• Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis of large-scale systems and architectures.
• Willingness for occasional domestic travel (≈10%).
• Current TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing technical staff.
• Liaise with senior customers and Aerospace leadership to identify and fulfill needs.
• Serve as the primary interface for the NGA GEOINT enterprise with the customer and Aerospace teams.
• Lead technical studies impacting future space and ground architectures.
• Collaborate with government and SETA across the GEOINT enterprise to support missions.
• Manage resources and ensure contract requirements are met.
