Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, Virginia, seeks a Systems Director - Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering to lead a national team guiding technology investments and coordinating with NRO/DoD offices. You will prioritize next‑generation spaceflight hardware and evaluate technology from component to architecture level.

This role requires 12+ years in GEOINT sensing, a relevant engineering/physical sciences degree, and a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, the physical sciences, or a related field.
• At least 12 years’ experience in GEOINT sensing modalities and related technologies.
• Experience building, leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to work closely across Aerospace, government, and SETA personnel.
• Willingness to travel approximately one week per month.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a National Aerospace team guiding technology investments and coordinate with NRO/DoD offices.
• Prioritize development of next‑generation spaceflight hardware and evaluate technology from component to architecture level.
• Collaborate across directorate, agency and national security space enterprise to communicate key technical positions.
• Evaluate technology development to identify risks and provide solutions for mission success.
• Provide reachback support to operate and test prototype hardware for the office.
• Provide personnel leadership including hiring, performance assessments, mentoring and career planning.
