Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a Field Applications Scientist, Bioinformatics, to partner with our Sales team and customers across the Northeast region. You will provide pre- and post-sales technical expertise on sequencing platforms and software—helping researchers design experiments, analyze data, and achieve successful outcomes.

You will travel to customer sites and conferences, deliver trainings, and drive adoption of ONT technologies while building lasting relationships.

Qualifications

• PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent field with customer-facing experience.
• Experience in field applications / technical support and experimental design.
• Strong genomics / bioinformatics knowledge and large NGS data analysis.
• Familiarity with Python, R or Perl and UNIX; AWS cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical consultations across the sales cycle.
• Provide on-site engagements at key accounts and conferences.
• Guide customers on experimental design and software usage.
• Manage customer relationships from a technical perspective.
• Track interactions in the CRM and monitor market trends.
