Job summary

HALO Precision Diagnostics in Torrance, CA is seeking a Patient Navigator – Hereditary Cancer Testing to guide high‑risk patients through genetic testing. You will educate patients, coordinate follow-ups, and assist with phlebotomy while partnering with a multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure compassionate, high‑quality care.

The role requires at least two years as a Medical Assistant, phlebotomy certification, and BLS, with in-person work Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years as Medical Assistant in a clinical team.
• At least two years of insurance verification/authorization experience.
• nationally certified phlebotomist with venipuncture proficiency.
• Current BLS certification and ability to collect blood for genetic testing.
• Ability to work independently and support multiple sites as needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site travel.

Responsibilities

• Educate/highlight key genetic testing steps and provide emotional support.
• Register patients and coordinate follow-up visits and services.
• Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients.
• Perform blood draws and specimen collection with accuracy (5–10% of role).
• Verify patient identity and label specimens correctly.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation per privacy rules.
• Keep clinical area clean, safe, and welcoming.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to complete tasks efficiently.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned patients and HALO commitments.
