Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, test requisitions, and pathology reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; empathetic patient-centered approach.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with patients, families, providers, laboratories, and care team members.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of the genetic counseling team, assist with coordinated care for patients and families.
• Manage established genetics patient lists and monitor status of pending workups.
• Review schedules to identify patients needing prenatal genetic counseling and coordinate referrals.
• Support development and coordination of reproductive genetic counseling services.
• Coordinate genetic testing, track results/delays, facilitate referrals, and assist with sample collection.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, providers, and care team.
• Contribute to research initiatives, educational programs, and projects supporting genetic counseling.
