Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Genetic Counselor to provide compassionate education, counseling, and risk assessment for patients with genetic conditions and prenatal concerns. You will work within a multidisciplinary team across various clinics, delivering personalized care in a setting that supports research, teaching, and community service.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, discussing testing options, and coordinating follow-up care with physicians and families.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling is required.
  • State license as Genetic Counselor is required.
  • 1–2 years of genetics experience preferred.
  • Cover letter is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess individual and family risk for genetic conditions and birth defects.
  • Review medical records and obtain detailed family histories.
  • Provide personalized education, counseling, and risk assessment.
  • Explain genetic screening and diagnostic testing options and results.
  • Coordinate additional testing, referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines for comprehensive patient care.
  • Respond to questions from patients, families, and staff.
  • Contribute to development of patient education materials and protocols.
