Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biology or Genetics preferred.
• Experience in lieu of degree not accepted.
• 1-2 years experience in patient-facing healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, test requisitions, and pathology reports.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Empathetic, patient-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage established genetics patient lists and monitor the status of pending clinical workups.
• Review schedules to identify patients who may benefit from prenatal genetic counseling and coordinate communication between referring providers and the genetic counseling team.
• Support the development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of reproductive genetic counseling services.
• Collaborate with laboratories, genetic counselors, clinicians, and other partners to coordinate genetic testing, track results and delays, facilitate referrals, and support sample collection.
• Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with patients, families, providers, and other members of the care team.
• Contribute to research initiatives, educational programs, and other projects that support the advancement of genetic counseling services.
