Job summary

GE Vernova in Chamblee, GA is seeking a Generator Repair Technician (Winder) to inspect, disassemble, repair, and refurbish turbine generator components, with emphasis on rotating field. The role requires mechanical repair skills and electrical testing experience in a hands-on environment.

You will work on rotor disassembly/reassembly, brazing, and diagnostic testing, using induction heating, torches, cranes, and a variety of tools, while adhering to drawings and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years in mechanical or repair field
• Desire for associate degree or trade training preferred
• Apprenticeship card from state certified program is a plus

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and refurbish generator rotors with quality workmanship
• Follow drawings and procedures with minimal supervision
• Braze winding connectors using torches or induction heaters
• Perform electrical diagnostic tests per procedures
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
