Job summary

Generac is seeking a qualified technician to perform mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting for generators. The role includes emergency repairs after hours, scheduled maintenance, and commissioning for industrial products.

You will read manuals and schematics, report faults promptly, and stay current on applicable NFPA/state regulations. The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver license, and 4 years of EPSS servicing experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Valid Driver License is required.
  • 4 years servicing and troubleshooting EPSS systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, AC/DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams.
  • Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas fuel systems.
  • Ability to obtain Generac certification in air-cooled and protector series courses.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to produce detailed reports within 24 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of generators.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs after hours, weekends and holidays as directed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and/or repairs of generators.
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform maintenance/repairs.
  • Detect faulty operations and report them to the service manager promptly.
  • Stay current on NFPA and state regulations for EPSS.
  • Create reports for all work performed in FieldServio.
  • Communicate report findings by phone, email and in-person.
  • Conduct equipment commissioning for industrial and MPS products.
