Job summary

Grasten Technologies Buyer LLC in Texas is seeking a Service Technician to support standby generator systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to customers.

This role ensures safe, reliable backup power when customers need it most. You will perform maintenance, diagnose issues, respond to service calls, document work, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
• 2–5 years of generator service or related field service.
• Experience with Generac, Kohler, Cummins, or Briggs & Stratton preferred.
• Familiarity with residential and light commercial generator systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• EPA 608 certification a plus; OSHA 10/30 preferred; electrical journeyman a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on standby generator systems.
• Diagnose and repair generator issues including electrical faults and engine problems.
• Respond to service calls and outages in a timely and professional manner.
• Document all service activities and test results in the service management system.
• Carry out start-ups, load testing, and operational checks.
• Communicate findings and recommended repairs to customers; provide usage instructions.
• Coordinate with parts department and service coordinators for scheduling and inventory.
• Maintain tools, service vehicles, and safety gear; comply with safety procedures and local codes.
• Stay current on generator technologies and participate in training.
