Job summary

Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) in Beltsville, MD seeks General Utility Mechanics for an onsite contract. You will maintain, inspect, and repair greenhouse utilities and related systems, performing preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Candidates need a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in maintenance, and the ability to follow safety procedures. OSHA 10/30 and a valid driver's license preferred; US citizenship or permanent residency

ICMS is looking for General Utility Mechanics to join our team onsite for a contract in Beltsville, Maryland . Successful candidates are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of greenhouses and internal systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building utilities and other facilities utility systems (compressors, HVAC components, small motors, plumbing fixtures and other general equipment
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnose malfunctions in general utility components
• Possess analytical skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment and system malfunctions.
• Understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms

Required Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or GED is standard. Preference is highly weighted toward graduates of vocational/technical programs
• 2+ years’ experience in general maintenance tasks and broad utility knowledge
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade
• Must be able at times to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• A valid state’s driver's license (with no major infractions) is required
• OSHA 10/30 Training

Security Clearance:

All contractor personnel must attain and maintain a USDA LincPass and pass a background check; personnel must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.

Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Onsite Position (Telecommute not considered for this position)

Work schedules are subject to change based on client and company needs. As a management position, this person will be on call regularly and be available for and respond to emergencies off shift.

Hourly Pay:

$33.73 per hour
