Job summary

Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) is seeking a General Maintenance Worker for an onsite contract in Beltsville, Maryland. You will maintain, inspect, and repair greenhouse facilities and internal systems, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Typical duties include inspecting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components; performing preventive maintenance; replacing parts; and coordinating with contractors for major repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 2+ years general maintenance experience and broad facility knowledge.
• Ability to read technical manuals/diagrams and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Perform preventive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Replace filters, bulbs, and other components as needed.

ICMS is looking for General Maintenance Workers to join our team onsite for a contract in Beltsville, Maryland . Successful candidates are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of greenhouses and internal systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns
• Replace filters, bulbs, and other components as needed
• Diagnosing and repairing issues with building systems and equipment
• Fix minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical problems
• Coordinate with contractors for major repairs and ensure work is completed to standards
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility
• Provide general support and assistance to trades and large preventative maintenance tasks
• Possess skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment
• Understand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written forms

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or a related field preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in general maintenance tasks and broad facility knowledge
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects (up to 40lbs), and work in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance according to published guidelines
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures and the confidence to suggest additional safety procedures.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

• A valid state’s driver's license (with no major infractions) is required
• OSHA 10/30 Training

Security Clearance:

All contractor personnel must attain and maintain a USDA LincPass and pass a background check; personnel must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.

Job Type: Non - Exempt, Full-Time Onsite Position (Telecommute not considered for this position)

Work schedules are subject to change based on client and company needs. As a management position, this person will be on call regularly and be available for and respond to emergencies off shift.

Hourly Pay: $26.68 per hour
