Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day team operations in our Michigan location. You will mentor staff, manage staffing and training, and drive customer service and sales while upholding Meijer standards.

Responsibilities include P&L oversight, discipline when needed, and ensuring safety and efficiency during prime shopping hours. A high school diploma and management experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce, deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Ability to communicate clear directions to the team.
• Ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Demonstrated leadership in safe work practices and mentoring.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Maintains store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and career development.
• Documents disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, sales, and shrink control.
• Ensures staff are trained and engaged with customers during peak hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
