Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store leader in Michigan to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold safety and company standards. Rotational assignments across departments enhance product flow and service delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear directions to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that prioritizes safe working practices.
• Mentor team members across areas including hourly staff and SDITs.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommend promotions or discharges.
• Manage P&L, achieve sales and maintain shrink.
• Ensure store is clean and visually appealing during prime hours.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Provide training and ensure team members complete required training.
• Spend most time in-store interacting with customers and staff to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
