The position oversees tracking systems, budgets, audits, and maintenance planning while aligning project execution with institutional priorities and long-term infrastructure goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degrees in Architecture, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in project management; 3+ years in project team leadership preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Job description

General Manager of Facilities Projects

The General Manager of Facilities Projects provides leadership and oversight for all project management processes within the ministry. This role ensures that facilities projects are executed efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards. The General Manager leads Project Managers, maintains centralized project tracking systems, enforces process consistency, and supports facility operations through effective planning and coordination. This position plays a key role in aligning project execution with organizational priorities and long-term infrastructure goals.

Project Management Process Ownership and Oversight

Develop, implement, and continuously improve project management processes and best practices across the ministry. Assign projects to appropriate Project Managers and ensure alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and compliance requirements. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and adjust processes as needed to maintain efficiency, quality, and accountability. Promote consistency in project execution through standardized procedures and oversight.

Leadership and Development of Project Managers

Supervise and support a team of Project Managers by providing direction, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Establish clear expectations and performance standards that align with ministry objectives. Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to strengthen project execution and leadership capabilities. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.

Project Tracking, Reporting, and Financial Oversight

Maintain centralized tracking systems, including dashboards, to monitor real time project progress, milestones, and performance metrics. Ensure accurate documentation of project activities, status updates, and quality checkpoints. Oversee project budgets throughout the lifecycle, verifying that financial performance aligns with approved parameters and organizational expectations.

Quality Assurance and Operational Coordination

Establish and enforce quality control standards across all facilities projects to ensure deliverables meet specifications and expectations. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance with standards and procedures. Collaborate with Project Managers and related departments to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. Coordinate planning and scheduling of maintenance labor and tasks to support uninterrupted facility operations and optimize resource utilization.
