Job summary

West Elm, part of Williams-Sonoma, Inc., is seeking a General Manager in San Francisco to lead store operations, drive sales, optimize payroll and controllable expenses, and develop associates for future growth.

You will hire great people, set direction, maintain visual merchandising standards, deliver exceptional customer service, build relationships with customers, and work with district peers to share best practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years management experience in specialty retail and/or multi-unit retail environment.
• Proven ability to manage staff to exceed sales goals while meeting payroll goals.
• Proven ability to hire, train, and develop great people.
• Strong communication, organization and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure store meets or exceeds sales and payroll goals based on current trends.
• Plan and adjust schedules to meet business goals; hold team accountable to achieving goals.
• Train and motivate associates through ongoing programs in sales, service, and product knowledge.
• Provide ongoing feedback and complete development plans for staff.
• Ensure exceptional customer experience and world-class service standards.
• Maintain presence on the sales floor and ensure staff coverage in all areas as needed.
• Foster a fair, respectful environment aligned with People First philosophy.
• Collaborate with District Managers to share best practices.
