Compass Group USA in Tempe, AZ seeks a General Manager to oversee an account in line with approved budgets and client expectations. You will maintain excellent relationships with staff, guests, and the client, and promote team growth while aligning dining services with facility operations.

Responsibilities include departmental meetings, policy compliance, budgeting, cash handling, and financial reporting. Strong leadership, catering experience, and HACCP knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
• Eight to ten years upscale food service experience including six years in management.
• Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, evaluation and succession planning.
• Proven track record to achieve company goals in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills.
• Effective problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under interruptions.
• Experience in food purchasing, costs and inventory control.
• Ability to create budgets, flash reports, and forecasts.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks.
• HACCP knowledge and proper food storage/use.
• Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations in food prep/serving.
• Time management and prioritization under deadlines.
• Strong catering experience.
• Integrity and ethical behavior.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• ServSafe or DOH certification a plus.

• Manages in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Maintains food costs while upholding quality standards.
• Builds rapport with staff, client, and guests and other departments.
• Oversees financial acumen including reports, budgets, and cash handling.
• Analyzes trends in financial data.
• Manages purchasing and inventory controls.
• Plans menus in consultation with chefs.
• Applies HACCP controls and proper storage/use of food.
